MDM integration
Omnia Manage and Microsoft Intune
Omnia Manage reads each client’s Intune tenant for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices, installed software and compliance, and records every change on the device’s timeline.
What it brings in
- Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices.
- Make, model, serial number, operating system, processor, memory and storage.
- Installed software for each device, used to count licence seats from real installs.
- Compliance status, with an alert and a history entry when a device stops being compliant.
How it behaves
- Where Intune manages a device, Intune’s specs win over an RMM’s, and the RMM still supplies last seen and the assigned user.
- Phones and tablets are company-owned only, unless you choose to include personal devices for a client.
- Devices are matched on serial number, so a device in Intune and an RMM is one asset.
- Anything you set by hand is never overwritten by a sync.
Good to know
- Installed software for personal devices isn’t available from Intune, which only reports unmanaged apps for corporate-owned devices.
- Installed software is read device by device, oldest first, so very large tenants are covered over several runs.
Questions
What permissions does it need?
Read access to Intune managed devices. Omnia Manage reads and doesn’t change anything in Intune.
Do I need an RMM as well?
No. Intune alone fills the register for managed devices. An RMM adds last seen and the assigned user for the devices it covers.
Does it work for in-house IT teams?
Yes. In-house workspaces connect their own Intune tenant, and the register covers the whole company.
