Omnia Manage and Amazon Web Services
Omnia Manage reads each AWS account for spend, resources and savings, and shows them beside the client’s devices and licences.
What it brings in
- Monthly spend by service from Cost Explorer.
- EC2, RDS and Lightsail resources across the account’s regions.
- Ways to save: EC2 rightsizing, unattached disks and unused IP addresses.
How it behaves
- Access is a read-only role in each AWS account that trusts Omnia Manage’s identity. Nothing in AWS is changed.
- MSPs can assign servers in their own AWS account to the client they serve and add them to that client’s register as server assets.
- Each part refreshes at most about every 20 hours.
Good to know
- Where a permission is missing, the part that needs it is recorded with a note instead of failing the sync.
Questions
Does each AWS account need its own role?
Yes. You create a read-only role in each account you connect, and each account shows in the client it belongs to.
Does it show spend in the client’s currency?
Spend is shown in each account’s own currency.
